• So let's get started! In the next few lessons, we will introduce you to the historical background of the Swadaya script - how it arose, when it arose, and why it arose. We will also look at the overall differences between the Ashuri, Estrangela, Serta and Swadaya scripts, and see the "bigger picture" behind what is different about Swadaya. We will take a look at some of the resources that will become available to you if you take the time and trouble to learn the Swadaya script.
• Then we will go through each of the letters in the Swadaya alphabet one by one, and show you how each letter differs from the corresponding letter in the Ashuri, Estrangela and Serta alphabets. Swadaya brings its own unique complications and simplifications to the written Aramaic language. There are Practice Sheets for each of these letters, just as there were for the Ashuri, Estrangela and Serta letters.
