- The next group of lessons looked at the Estrangela script. We learned about the history of Estrangela and saw that it is used extensively in Syriac, the dialect of Aramaic which the Peshitta Old and New Testaments were written in. We also saw that Estrangela is a development from the Ashuri script, evolving from the Ashuri letters over time. We showed how the Estrangela letters differed from Ashuri, and we presented the Estrangela lessons as a development from the Ashuri letters.
