- In this lesson, we take a closer look at the Church of the East. We will see that while in the west, Christianity has a mixed history of Aramaic (Syriac), Greek and Latin, in the east (by contrast), there is really only one history. It is the history of Aramaic, of the Aramaic New Testament - not Greek, and not Latin.
- So let’s start this lesson by explaining a little more about what we mean by ‘west’ and ‘east’. This is very important, because the terms are used differently by different people, in different contexts, in different time periods.
