• From Syriac, that all-important dialect of Aramaic, ecclesiastical writings at the time (including the New Testament) were subsequently translated first into Greek, then from Greek to other languages such as Latin. But it all started with Syriac! And that Syriac is preserved down to the present day in the Peshitta New Testament!
