• This Emperor Hadrian is the same Emperor who, early in his reign, built Hadrian’s Wall in Britain, that massive stone defensive wall which broadly separates Scotland from England. The north of England, at Hadrian’s Wall, marked the farthest northern extent of the Roman Empire.
