- That fourth beast was more terrifying and destructive than anything that went before it, and it would change its form, but ultimately survive to become the feet of iron and clay, partly strong and partly weak, until Christ returns to destroy that wicked kingdom, and set up God’s kingdom on this earth, with Jerusalem as its center.
- And so, as we conclude this lesson on the Roman Empire, let us remind ourselves of the words of the prophecy in Deuteronomy. We saw earlier in chapter 28:
- Deut. 28:49 “The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand; 50 A nation of fierce countenance…”
