- As it is written in Daniel the prophet:
- Dan. 4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
- As we saw in our lesson on the Medo-Persian Empire, that vast empire spread in all directions and rose to great power, with seemingly nothing to stop it. As we saw, it spread over 127 provinces, all the way from Egypt and Ethiopia in the west, to India in the east. The two horns were not balanced and were not equal in size, just like the Medo-Persian Empire, where the Persians would eventually gain the ascendancy and became greater than the Medes.
