- And as we shall see in our next lesson, The Bar-Kokhba Revolt, the persecution of Jews in the Land of Israel would continue for almost another century. Banished from Jerusalem in A.D. 70, the Jews would slowly come back, to form yet another revolt under the Emperor Hadrian. Hadrian put down that revolt, too, at the loss of even more Jewish blood. Copies of anything to do with Jews and Christians, in Hebrew and Aramaic, was burnt (again). But, yet again, the Word of God survived. The Word of God lived on, divinely preserved, down through time, even to the present day.
