• These events marked the end of an age - the age of Judah’s commonwealth, the end of the Jewish priesthood, and the end of the Law of Moses. It became impossible to fulfil the Law of Moses, because there was no priesthood. Jesus the Messiah had come to fulfil the Law and the Prophets, and he had done so in exact detail.
